This Spring, John Dadosky, professor
at Regis College and a Research
Scholar of the LRI, published The
Eclipse and Recovery of Beauty: A
Lonergan Approach (University of
Toronto). The
book takes up
von Balthasar’s
contention that a
world that has
forgotten beauty
is doomed to

skepticism, mor-
al and aesthetic

relativism, reli-
gious conflicts,

and escalating ecological crises.
Dadosky draws upon Kierkegaard and
Nietzsche to situate the loss, and
upon Lonergan to promote a recovery
of the transcendental notion of
beauty. We warmly congratulate him
and look forward to co-sponsoring a
book launch with Regis in the Fall.
