Research Assistantships

Research Assistantships at the LRI support promising students in their studies, help them consolidate their appropriation of Lonergan’s work and of the best traditions in Catholic theology and philosophy, foster friendship and intellectual collaboration among like-minded scholars, and advance the scholarly purposes of the LRI.

The Assistantships, in the amount of $6,000, renewable for each of up to four years, are awarded to outstanding doctoral students at Regis College or in allied programs at the Toronto School of Theology and the University of Toronto. Assistantships may also be available for post-doctoral students.

Recipients will be selected on the basis of their academic promise, the relevance of their work to the purposes of the LRI, their commitment to the intellectual apostolate, and the importance of their work for the Church and the world. Recipients are expected to help advance scholarly activities and programs of the LRI. Interested parties are encouraged to contact Jeremy Wilkins, Director, via email or at our mailing address.

Research Assistantships are funded by generous gifts from John and Margaret Denson, Michael Vertin, Thomas Vertin, and other partners.
