We are pleased to announce that this
year’s Lonergan Lecture will be given
by Dr Cynthia Crysdale, Professor of
Christian Ethics in the School of The‐
ology at Sewanee: The University of
the South. She is the author of Em‐
bracing Travail: Retrieving the Cross
Today, and, with Neil Ormerod, Crea‐
tor God, Evolving World, in addition
to numerous articles. Her current
book project is Transformed Lives:
Making Sense of Atonement Today.
The title for Professor Crysdale’s lec‐
ture is “Jesus Died for Our Sins...? Un‐
derstanding Atonement Today.”
The Lonergan Lecture is an annual
event sponsored by the LRI. This
year’s lecture will take place on Octo‐
ber 16, 7:30 p.m., at Regis College. For
