Our annual Lonergan Lecture honors the memory and advances the achievement of Bernard Lonergan. Each year the Lec- ture brings a noted expert to Toronto to address important and timely questions. Last year, Prof. Cynthia Crysdale invited us to reflect on the problem of discern- ment presented by what Lonergan called the ‘Law of the Cross,’ bringing good out of evil through self-giving love.
