LONERGAN RESEARCH INSTITUTE, TORONTO – TENTH ANNUAL LONERGAN LECTURE, GLENN HUGHES, ART AND SPIRITUALITY

On Friday October 14th at 7:30 pm, the Lonergan Research Institute will host the 10th Annual Lonergan Lecture. Professor Glenn “Chip” Hughes, Professor of Philosophy at St. Mary’s University, San Antonio, Texas will present on “Art and Spirituality.” The lecture will be held in St. Joseph Chapel, Regis College, 100 Wellesley Street West. Hughes is the author of A More Beautiful Question: The Spiritual in Poetry and Art (University of Missouri Press, 2011).

Preceeding the lecture, a vespers service celebrating the vocation of the artist will be held at 5:15 pm in St. Joseph Chapel.

On Thursday, October 13, at 2:15 pm, Hughes will discuss “Art and Spiritual Growth” at the school year’s first meeting of the LRI Graduate Seminar in classroom C in the Christie wing of Regis College.

In conjunction with this exploration of the spiritual and transcendent dimensions of art, special tours of the Donovan Art Collection at St. Michael’s College will be offered during the two weeks preceding the lect
