BLACKFRIARS, OXFORD – THOMAS AND THOMISMS

Thomas and Thomisms

The annual Aquinas Colloquium will be held at Blackfriars, Oxford, on Saturday 7th March, 2015, from 10.00am to 5.00pm.

Presentations will be given representing different recent “schools” of Thomism, followed by a discussion of whether Aquinas’s thought can be well captured by any one school or by a limited list of “theses”. The “schools” to be formally represented are “Existential Thomism”, “Strict Observance Thomism”, “Transcendental Thomism” and “Analytical Thomism”, but it is hoped that participants in the Colloquium will include scholars familiar with further approaches.

Speakers:
Prof. John O’Callaghan, University of Notre Dame
Prof. Peter Hunter, OP, Blackfriars, Oxford
Prof. Reinhard Hütter, Duke Divinity School
Prof. Jeremy Wilkins, Regis College, Toronto
